Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Porkly does with your information. It is short, because the answer is that Porkly does not collect any.

1. Who we are
Porkly is made and operated by Gregory Clair (the “Operator”, “we”, “us”), an individual developer. For any privacy question, email support@porkly.app. A mailing address is available on request.
2. What we collect
Nothing.
We do not collect, receive, store, transmit, share, sell, rent or trade any personal information. That is not a promise of restraint — it is a description of how the app is built. Porkly has no backend service, no database of users, no account system and no analytics. There is no system anywhere that holds your data, because we never built one.
Specifically, and to leave no room for doubt, we do not collect:
- your name, email address, phone number or date of birth;
- any password — there is nothing to sign in to;
- the content you create in the app — tasks, events, notes, tags, timers, activities or tracked sessions;
- your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, calendar, reminders, health data or files;
- advertising identifiers (IDFA), device fingerprints, or any other identifier used to track you across apps or websites;
- usage analytics, event telemetry, session recordings, heatmaps or crash reports;
- your IP address or any server-side log of your activity — we run no server that could write one.
Because none of the above is collected, there is no data of yours for us to sell, no profile to build, and nothing to hand over in response to a legal request. We also do not use your content to train AI models, our own or anyone else’s.
3. What your device holds
The app is not empty — it just keeps everything locally. Stored on your device, and only on your device, are:
- Your content, in a local SQLite database: the items you create (tasks, events, timers, alarms, stopwatches, pomodoros), your activities, your tracked time entries, your tabs, tags, notes, and any optional text you type into a field such as Location.
- Your settings — appearance, tracking preferences, your Home ring configuration, and the display name and avatar colour you may set for yourself. The name is a label drawn on your own screen; it is never sent anywhere.
- Your Premium status, in the device keychain, so the app knows it has been unlocked without asking the App Store every time.
- Scheduled notifications for your alarms and reminders, held by iOS itself until they fire.
A note on the Location field: it is a plain text box you type into (“Room 214”, “Mom’s house”). Porkly does not use GPS, never requests location permission, and does not know where you are.
4. The only network connections Porkly makes
The app itself contains no networking code — it makes no requests to us, because there is no “us” to request from. Two connections do exist, both made by standard Apple or Expo components rather than by Porkly’s own code, and neither one carries anything you typed:
- App updates. Porkly is built with Expo, which can deliver small updates to the app’s code without a full App Store release. On launch it asks Expo’s update server whether a newer version exists. That request necessarily reveals what any web request reveals — your IP address, the app version and the platform — and nothing else. It sends no content, no identifiers we assign, and no information about how you use the app.
- Purchases. If you buy or restore Premium, the app talks to the App Store to complete and verify it. That exchange is between your device and Apple. We never see your payment method, your Apple Account, your billing address or your name — only whether this device owns the unlock.
Everything else works with no connection at all. Turn on airplane mode and the app is fully functional: your data is on the device, and your alarms are scheduled on the device.
5. Permissions
Porkly asks for one permission: notifications, so your alarms and reminders can reach you. Decline it and the rest of the app still works; you simply will not be alerted.
Its notifications are local ones, scheduled on your device and delivered by iOS. Porkly registers no push token, uses no push service, and has no way to send you anything remotely. We could not contact your phone if we tried.
6. When data leaves your device
Only when you deliberately send it, using Profile → DATA → Export Data. That writes a single file and hands it to the iOS share sheet, where you choose what happens to it — save it to Files or iCloud Drive, AirDrop it to another device, attach it to an email. Porkly does not upload it, does not keep a copy, and does not see where it goes.
Once you place that file somewhere, it is governed by whatever you put it in. A backup saved to iCloud Drive lives in your iCloud account under Apple’s terms; we have no access to it.
7. Third parties
Porkly integrates no advertising networks, no analytics vendors, no crash reporters and no social SDKs. The only third parties involved at all are the two named in section 4:
- Apple distributes the app and processes any purchase, under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Apple may give us anonymous, aggregated sales and download statistics; those describe totals, not people, and we cannot identify anyone from them.
- Expo hosts the update service the app checks for new code, under Expo’s Privacy Policy.
This website is served as static files by our hosting provider, which keeps ordinary web server logs of requests to porkly.app. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts of any kind. The pages do load a web font from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google to fetch it.
8. Security, and what it depends on
Having no server removes an entire category of risk: there is no account of yours to steal, no password to leak, and no database to breach. Nothing about Porkly can be compromised remotely, because there is nothing remote.
9. Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA give you rights over personal data a company holds about you — to access it, correct it, export it, delete it, or object to how it is used. We hold none, so there is nothing to request from us. There is no account to close and no deletion request to file.
You exercise every one of those rights directly on your device:
- Access and portability — export everything to a file at any time, from Profile → DATA → Export Data.
- Correction — edit anything in the app, whenever you like.
- Erasure — delete individual items, or delete the app to remove all of it at once. Deleting the app is permanent and takes the data with it, so export first if you might want it back.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we have no mechanism to do so. If you still wish to contact us about privacy, write to support@porkly.app.
10. Children
Porkly is rated 4+ and is safe for any age: it has no chat, no user-generated content shared with anyone, no web browsing, no ads, and no data collection. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — or from adults — because we do not collect personal information at all.
11. Changes to this policy
If Porkly ever changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy changes first and the “Last updated” date below moves with it. Any future feature that would send data off your device would be described here, and would be optional.
